The Sunny southeast! They say there is more sunshine in this area year 'round than any other place in Ireland. Wexford Town is a compact place with narrow streets and fun shops, pubs and restaurants. The Bull Ring memorializes the atrocities of Oliver Cromwell troops who massacred men, women and children. Johnstown Castle is the centre of the Agricultural Department of the Irish Government. They have a museum here to the famine times. Experimental farms and other agricultural activities go on here.

Travelling east you come to Kilmore Quay a quaint village with some fabulous restaurants. Nearby is Tintern Abbey with connections to Tintern Abbey in Wales. South west of Wexford Town is Hook Head Lighthouse which must be visited. They say that there has been a light on this point since the 5th century when monks lit fires to warn the ships of the rocks. Nearby is Dunbrody Abbey and Ballyhack Castle which dates back to the Knights Hospitallers of St. John.
